You will be met at Funchal airport on November 23rd (time TBC) and together we will transfer to our hotel. The journey should take around 20 minutes. Depending on our arrival time, we will meet later in the afternoon again for introductions and a programme brief before our first shoot followed by dinner. Our photography recommences the next morning with a sunrise shoot and runs through until sunset on the final day. On the final afternoon we will transfer back to the airport (time TBA).
We will visit a number of locations over the course of the workshop which will offer you numerous challenges and allow you to fully explore your creative potential.
There will also be time to review and critique your images and the opportunity to discuss them together as we look back on our photography.
The workshop has a relaxed format and is designed to be enjoyable as well as well as educational, so aside of improving your photography you can also enjoy the beautiful surroundings and most importantly have fun!

We will be based at Turim Hotel, Funchal. All rooms are single occupancy, ensuite and include breakfast.
The nearest airport is Funchal international airport to which flights are available with BA or Easy Jet from Gatwick, or Easy Jet from Bristol.

Exact pick up/drop off times will be confirmed but based on the current schedule, pick up will be at approximately 12 midday on the 23rd November (unless we have anyone flying from Manchester in which case it will be 3:30pm) and drop off at 2:30pm on the 28th November.
A minimum of 5 bookings are required for this workshop to proceed. As such PLEASE DO NOT BOOK YOUR FLIGHTS until you are informed that this number has been reached.
Over the course of this workshop we will be fully exploring the highlights of Madeira.
When possible (weather and conditions allowing) we’ll take the opportunity to include both dawn and dusk shoots each day to take advantage of the favourable light.
Throughout, we will give you both practical and technical advice, to help you gain confidence and develop your photographic technique, as well as individual guidance and hands on demonstrations in the field. There will also be the opportunity to have your work critiqued as we look back over our images and review your progress.

This 4.5 day workshop includes:
- Five nights, single occupancy ensuite accommodation at Turim Santa Maria, Funchal

The workshop is suitable for all abilities, other than the complete beginner. Please email info@imageseen.co.uk if you have any queries.
Moderate – good. Some locations are relatively easy access but there is some uphill walking involved at times. The longest walk is around 45 minutes. Ribeira da Janela involves clambering over potential slippery rocks on the beach.
Non photographer partners, or friends/family sharing the same room, are most welcome and we’d be happy for them to join us for dinner each night. - DSLR with appropriate lenses. A bridge camera will be adequate if it has manual functions – please contact info@imageseen.co.uk if you are unsure if your camera is suitable.
- A tripod
- Filters – a Polarising Filter and a set of Neutral Density Graduated Filter/s will help you get the best result in-camera. ND filters are also required if you wish to do long exposures.
- A rain cover for your camera.
- A laptop or tablet to view and/or process your images in preparation to have your work critiqued.
