Improve your photography in the glorious Scottish Highlands

Infamous Glencoe

Surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery, the glacial valley of Glencoe stretches from Rannoch Moor to Loch Leven. Within this relatively small area, the variety of mountains, lochs and beautiful landscapes is unsurpassed offering some fabulous mountain and moorland vistas.

Explore Rannoch Moor And Glorious Glen Etive

As well as photographing the highlights of Glencoe, including the impressive Three Sisters, we will also travel to Rannoch Moor, a beautiful and wild landscape with mountains and lochs on either side. We will be visiting the iconic mountain ridge of Buachaille Etive Mor, marking the entrance to Glen Etive, one of the most beautiful Glens in Scotland. Here we will explore the many falls along the River Etive as well as Lochan Urr, with delightful views of the surrounding mountains reflected in its waters.

Learn To Work With Light

The time of year for our workshops offers us the potential of some superb light for landscape photography with the sun low in the sky throughout the day, adding to the wonderful mood of the area. We also hope to be able to photograph some snow capped mountains during our visit.

We will show you how to prepare for the best light and capture the mood of this stunning highland location. As well as helping you to master exposure and composition, you will also be able to experiment with long exposures with the use of filters. For those of you who don’t have any, I will have some Kase filters on hand for you to borrow and I will be available to offer advice on how and when to use them.

Small Groups, Expert Tuition

The workshop has a relaxed format and is suitable for all abilities providing you have an understanding of the basics. There will be the opportunity to receive constructive feedback on your images in our friendly group critique sessions, plus plenty of time to discuss photographic techniques over a delicious evening meal with your fellow photographers.

Our accommodation for this 4 day course will be the comfortable and ideally located Loch Leven Hotel. Beautifully situated on the bank of Loch Leven, it provides us with a perfect base.

This workshop will offer you numerous opportunities to capture the majestic beauty of the highlands of Scotland. Come and join us and experience the grandeur of Glencoe, the rugged remoteness of Rannoch Moor and the iconic mountain views of Buachaille Etive Mor. This is one experience not to miss.
