About Sarah Howard

Sarah’s interest in photography was initiated by her father, himself an accomplished amateur photographer, and developed further through her travels overseas.

Sarah Howard, photographer and owner of Image Seen Photography Workshops.

Inspired, and subsequently mentored, by renowned landscape photographer Charlie Waite, she was encouraged to develop her photography further and to him she owes much gratitude for supporting her and helping her to find her path in life. Aside of photography her greatest passion is travel and she is happiest whilst exploring the great outdoors, seeking to capture the immense diversity and beauty of our world on camera.

Sarah’s work has been widely published and exhibited including locally, at the O3 gallery in Oxford, and at Westonbirt Arboretum. The end of 2009 saw the publication of her first book; ‘A year in the life of Westonbirt’. That same year, she established Image Seen in order to pass on to other photographers her passion and enthusiasm for landscape photography and to help them realise their creative potential.

Sarah now runs landscape photography workshops throughout the UK as well as offering tailored one to one tuition. Photographers from all over the country join her on location learning how to improve their photography and create inspiring images for themselves.

Sarah is also a regular guest speaker to photographic clubs.

She is currently working on ‘Photographing The Cotswolds’; part of the fotoVUE series of photography guide books.

James Grant

James is an award-winning landscape photographer based in North Wales. He spent a good majority of his photographic career in the Peak District and knows it like the back of his hand, having written a photographic guidebook on the area from when he lived there. He moved to North Wales in 2021 and has focussed more on Snowdonia since moving, and while he was already a keen visitor, he loves going even more.

James’ happy place is high up in the mountains, capturing moments that so few get to see but he also enjoys coastal locations. His love for the mountains came from walking them as a young adult, which inspired him to get a camera. Before he knew it, he was walking less and taking more photos and the rest they say is history.

He is proud to have worked with some big brands including Sony, Blacks Outdoors & Terra Nova to name a few. He regularly contributes to Outdoor Photography and has also written articles for many other magazines.

James is an experienced workshop leader, running a variety of workshops for all abilities all over the UK. He is also a qualified mountain leader.

Will LLoyd

From the Lake District to the North Yorkshire Coast, Cornwall to the Essex Coastline of the UK, semi-pro photographer Will Lloyd loves nothing more than being in the field and traveling to get Landscape and Seascapes around the UK.

Will has a rich experience with many genres of photography, including portraiture, architecture, street photography as well as shooting food.

Will likes to shoot film and digital, but the former gets a good look in recently and he has gone back to developing his own film again.

The latest digital cameras and software makes the photographic process incredibly powerful, but as a bit of a purist and perfectionist, Will strives to capture the landscape as it naturally appears, by trying to get it right in camera.

When not in the field, Will can be found visiting Art Galleries, cooking, running a specialist IFA firm and searching out the best coffee in town.

Neil Milton

Neil undertook a driving holiday to Iceland some 20 years ago, and not knowing any better had a very basic DSLR camera set on automatic. The bright light and general amateur approach played havoc with the results, and he vowed to start learning about composition and the attributes of a DSLR. A few courses, and much trial and error, followed.

Aside from recording interesting landscapes, flora, fauna, and architecture, his interest and skills have become more and more focused on photographing the cocktail of wilderness, and ever-changing dramatic light, which so often play out on the Scottish coast and mountains. His walking boots and rucksack are ever ready, and he has undertaken countless expeditions into the Borders, Highlands and Islands.

Nature’s dramas and the eternal search for dramatic light are Neil’s constant inspiration.

Now Edinburgh based, Neil uses the micro-4/3rd’s system, which compliments long days in the hills.

Andy Page

Andy is a semi-professional photographer specialising in UK landscapes and scenics.

Andy began his photography at college as a teenager, learning how to process and print black and white film in the darkroom. Later he moved on to transparency film and then onto medium format film photography and it was during this time that he honed his skills with exposure and composition especially. In 2007 he made a big change to embrace the digital revolution (although the medium format camera gets an occasional run out).

He loves to share his knowledge and experience and is a patient teacher with an eye for composition and attention to detail. A firm believer in the use of technique and craft over equipment, Andy will help you get the most from whatever kit you have or whatever your level of experience.

In recent years Andy has been a commended finalist twice in the annual ‘Take A View’ Landscape Photographer of the Year competition being published in the annual yearbook and exhibited at the National Theatre Gallery, London. He has also won and been highly placed in several photographic competitions and been published in numerous photo magazines.
