Learn Photography amid the majestic landscapes of Iceland
Iconic Locations
Experience some of Icelands most iconic locations on our 7 day photography workshop. From the dramatic sea stacks sculptured by the ocean at Vik and the incredible glacial lagoon at Jökulsárlón, to the hugely impressive mountain of Vestrahorn looming from the black volcanic beach, and the towering, powerful waterfall at Skógafoss.
Vík - black sands, sea-stacks & basalt columns
The peaceful seafront town of Vík sits on a dramatic stretch of coastline nestled between glacier topped mountains, rugged sea cliffs and black sand beaches.
Nearby Reynisfjara is home to some truly impressive sea stacks and basalt columns all sculpted by the elements.
Here too sits the beautiful red and white church which offers panoramic views over the area.
Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach
Considered to be one of the natural wonders of Iceland; Jökulsárlón is a stunning glacial lagoon filled with icebergs of all shapes and sizes. These icebergs are notable, not only for their impressive scale, but also for their striking colours.
Diamond Beach is a stunning black sand beach where chunks of ice break away from the icebergs from the nearby lagoon and wash ashore. Here they are sculpted by the waves and tides.
The striking contrast of glittering ice against the black volcanic sand makes it an amazing location for some fantastic photography.
The Striking mountains of Vestrahorn
Vestrahorn is one of Iceland’s most striking and unforgettable mountains. Its jagged peaks rise sharply from the surrounding black sand beaches making a dramatic backdrop.
With waves crashing against the shore and the ever-changing light constantly transforming the scenery, Vestrahorn offers an incredible experience.
Skógafoss Waterfall
Skógafoss is one of the biggest and most impressive waterfalls in Iceland, with a width of 25m and a drop of 60m. Sustained by twin glaciers the Skóga river cascades over the sea cliffs in a stunning cascade. Often a striking double rainbow results on sunny days.
A popular location with film-makers, scenes of Thor: The Dark World, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Game of Thrones and other productions have all been shot here.
